Civil rights actions generally involve the prosecution of rights conveyed by the United States Constitution and certain Congressional acts, especially as applied to an individual or minority group.
Commonly civil rights violations involve false or unlawful imprisonment, excessive force by authorities, unlawful searches, false confessions, planted evidence and other unlawful police action. Individuals who have been discriminated against in the work place have the right to hold a person, their employer or both liable in a court of law.
